Mindful Breastfeeding

You’re a new mom in the Bay Area, and breastfeeding is harder than anyone told you it would be.
I’m Lazara Briones, IBCLC and NICU Registered Nurse with over 33 years of experience and currently work at Stanford’s NICU as well. I come to your home — from Palo Alto all the way south to Gilroy, Fremont to Newark — and I stay until we figure it out together.
Tongue tie. Latch problems. Low supply. Pain. Sleep. I’ve seen it all, and I can help.
Mindful Breastfeeding offers in-home lactation consultations, newborn care education, sleep coaching, tongue tie assessment, craniosacral therapy, baby wearing and more — all from a clinician who has cared for some of the most fragile newborns in the country. Breastfeeding doesn’t always come naturally — and that doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. You don’t have to white-knuckle this alone. Let’s get breastfeeding working for you and your baby.

Mission Statement

Mindful Breastfeeding exists to give moms the expert lactation support they deserve — whether I'm sitting next to you in your living room or meeting you virtually from anywhere in the world. As an IBCLC and a Stanford Neonatal ICU Registered Nurse with over 33 years of experience, I know that breastfeeding questions don't wait for office hours, and the generic advice online often makes things worse. My mission is to give you accurate, personalized guidance — for latch issues, tongue tie, low supply, pain, sleep, and everything in between — so you feel confident feeding your baby from day one. Every mom deserves real answers from someone who has actually seen thousands of newborns. That's what Mindful Breastfeeding is built on. I offer in-home lactation consultations throughout the Bay Area — Palo Alto, San Jose, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Fremont, Newark, and surrounding communities — and telehealth lactation consultations for families anywhere in California and beyond. Wherever you are, you don't have to figure this out alone..
